This is a troubled soul, someone who is unhappy, who has inner demons locked within.
I see a tormented person who never seems to be at the right place at the right time. Good luck seems to avoid them, and they are hounded by past failures. As a result this person is hesitant to take chances, to seek self-improvement, to get out of the rut.
There is a fear of failure here, and this is based on past experience. I sense bitterness and resentment toward others – even close ones – who do well in life. Anyone who is happy and successful poses a threat to this unfortunate, sad soul.
So, what can you do to help?
They need guidance and a positive force to help reconstruct their daily routine. They are on a course headed for disaster and they do need direction. But will they listen? You can help focus on areas of strength and experience and interest. This could help diminish the inner demons by increasing their self-esteem.
Of course, professional help, if affordable, is always recommended.
The important thing is to help them realize that their self-indulgent, bitter attitude will lead them down the path to destruction. And once they exhibit a more positive outlook, then, and only then, can they could take giant steps toward a happier, more productive life.
